The short version
Canada Flashlights is a Canadian online store. We collect the minimum information needed to ship your order and answer your questions, and we do not sell or share customer data with marketers. Card numbers are handled by our payment provider, never stored on our site.
What we collect
- Order details. Name, shipping address, billing address, email, and phone — the information needed to deliver a parcel and contact you about it.
- Newsletter signups. Email address only, plus the page you signed up from. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter we send with the link at the bottom of the email.
- Support correspondence. Anything you send through our contact form or by email, retained so we can refer back to it on follow-ups.
What we do not collect
We do not store credit-card numbers, CVV codes, or full bank details on this site. Payments are processed by PayPal or our card processor; the only thing we receive back from them is a confirmation that your payment cleared, plus a transaction reference.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics, a service operated by Google LLC, to understand which pages get visited and which products people look at. Analytics uses cookies — small text files stored by your browser — and reports back to Google in aggregate form. We do not connect your IP address to your identity, and we do not ask Google to. Google’s handling of this data is governed by its privacy policy.
You can refuse cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but a few features (cart, login state, recent-view memory) will not persist between visits.
Who we share data with
We share order details only with the parties needed to fulfil the order — the shipping carrier (Canada Post or Purolator), the payment processor, and Fenix where a warranty claim requires it. We do not sell or rent customer information to third parties.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for tax and warranty purposes — seven years for accounting, and the lifetime of your light’s warranty for service history. Newsletter records last until you unsubscribe. Support email is kept for two years, then deleted on a rolling basis.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask us what we have on file, correct anything that is wrong, and ask us to delete data we are not legally required to keep. Requests go to the email address in the sidebar.
